3 Bible Tips: How to Grow in Faith

with one comment

Considering the comments on “3 Bible Tips: Dealing With Fear,” here’s more about growing in faith:

1. Study the Faith Chapter and the examples it relates for a definition and demonstrations of faith.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…” (Hebrews 11:1-39).

2. Ask God to “help” your “unbelief” and increase your faith.

“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’” (Mark 9:23-24; verse 29 shows the connection to prayer and fasting when necessary; see also Luke 17:5).

The testing of faith is like purifying a metal.

3. Faith is tested and purified by remaining faithful through trials.

“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:6-7).

  1. Your right on target with this!! Keep it up. Allowing my faith to be tested is never easy, but the goal is worthy of the test…
