I just saw a prescreening of the incredible United Church of God Festival sermon video, weaving together amazing stories of Church members who have faced great difficulties. We’ve covered Carol Zamora and the survivors of the Rwandan genocide in the blog, but the video really builds on those stories, and adds several others from around the world. The theme is based on Romans 14:17-18, about the essential building blocks of the Kingdom of God, “righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” My congratulations to Clay Thornton and all the others who put together this excellent presentation. After the Feast of Tabernacles when it is posted online, I hope to provide a link.

Also congratulations to Victor Kubik and LifeNets, the effective grassroots charity he founded 10 years ago. On Sept. 1 LifeNets will be 10 years old! The amount of good done for people from Chernobyl to Malawi, from Guatemala to Sri Lanka is incalculable. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Whitney Smith, a student at Ambassador Bible Center who will start Monday as an intern in the UCG Media area! I hope to get some of her writing up on the blog as well.

Congratulations to a friend, Judy Swanson, who was recently hired to write the Lexington Christian Living Examiner articles! Check out “Teach Your Children to Pray and Build Their Faith in God” and her other articles!

And a congratulations to my wonderful wife, Becky, for sticking with me these 24 years! Happy anniversary!

Who would you like to congratulate today?

I would like to say congrats to all of those living in areas around the world where being a Christian is not easy, and where life in general is not easy. I would like to thank them for standing by their faith, and being as dedicated as they are.
