Question of the week: What is the most misused word?
Last week USA Today ran a list of the most annoying phrases in conversation. For example:
- “Whatever,” picked by 47%.
- “You know,” 25%.
- “It is what it is,” 11%.
But that got me thinking in a different direction, not about fillers and interjections, but about good words that have taken on a different connotation. What words do you think are most misused?
